Why we are
Qonaq
Qonaq means "guest" in Kazakh. In the culture of the steppe the word is sacred: a traveller who knocked on a yurt was seated in the place of honour — the tor, right under the shanyrak — fed the best food in the house and watched over as they slept. Turning a guest away brought shame on the whole family.
We built this company on that law. To us you are not a "tourist" or a "client" — you are a guest. That's why we meet you at the airport like family, show you the country the way we'd show a friend, and stay in touch until you land back home.
Three laws of hospitality
We welcome you like family
One point of contact for the entire trip: one contract, one chat, one price with no surprises. From the moment you land until you fly out, everything is our job.
We show you the real thing
We live here. We know which yurt serves the most honest dastarkhan, what time Charyn glows red and where Kolsai is free of crowds. No conveyor-belt tourism.
We always answer
A real person on WhatsApp 24/7 — not a bot, not a call centre. A question at 2 a.m. gets an answer at 2 a.m. You don't leave a guest alone — that is the law too.
Honest numbers
We are a young company — and that works in your favour: every guest is worth their weight in gold to us, and we fight for every review.
Who will meet you
Founder
Started Qonaq so the world could see Kazakhstan the way we know it. Personally answers for every guest leaving as a friend.
Head guide
Ten years on Tian Shan trails. Knows where the best sunrise over Kolsai rises and tells the Silk Road story so well it gives you goosebumps.
Coordinator
The person who answers your WhatsApp at any hour. Keeps every booking, transfer and week-ahead forecast in their head.
Team photos and names will be added before launch.
